The reigning Miss South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, presented some of the attire she will be wearing during her bid to become the 66th Miss Universe in Las Vegas to the press yesterday during her official sendoff party. Nel-Peters presented her national costume, which this year will be a fantasy creating celebrating South Africa's national flower, the protea. While the gown she will be wearing for the final night of Miss Universe is being kept a closely guarded secret, Nel-Peters did model one of the gowns she will be taking for an event leading up to the crowning of Miss Universe 2017. During the event, she thanked Sun International, her family, and her trainer and stylist, Werner Wessels for their support. She also promised to do South Africa proud.
