Missouri wins Miss Teen USA 2017

17 year old Miss Missouri Teen USA, Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff, was crowned Miss Teen USA 2017 earlier today. The 1.78m beauty won her state's second ever Miss Teen USA title at the Symphony Hall in Phoenix, Arizona, defeating 50 other beauties. She will now work for the Miss Universe Organization alongside Miss Universe, Iris Mittenaere from France, and Miss USA, Kara McCullough from the District of Columbia.

Unlike last year's controversial all blonde top 5, this year was a true reflection of new owners WME/IMG's mission to show diversity. The first runner-up was Miss Oregon, Vanessa Matheson, and the second runner-up was Miss Nevada, Alexis Smith. Paige Robinson from Indiana finished in fourth place, while Jaanu Patel from California finished in fifth place. The top 15 were completed by the delegates from Arizona, Iowa, Maryland, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.

I am happy with the winner! I got 8/15 which is not bad considering the fact that I am still trying to figure out what WME/IMG wants.

  1. I like the winner, very pleased that states that don't often make it were in top 15. (Iowa, Vermont, Wyoming) Sorry they no longer do, 15,10,5 like they used to. I liked Pennsylvania sorry she did not make it. Did not get Oregon, but at least it was a diverse top 5 unlike in 2016.

Of the top 15 I would have put Missouri, Wyoming, Vermont, Indiana and California as my top 5

  2. Good job Andrei! Her smile is captivating plus the fact that she is a great speaker. I feel bad for RPM Productions. Alabama and North Carolina should have been up in the top 15. Looking forward for the top 15 format at Miss. Universe. They'll just have to remove the nasty profile introduction during the announcement of the first cut to bring back the real excitement and not to have dull moments.
