Genesis Davila, a former Miss World Puerto Rico, reigned for less than a week before being dethroned as Miss Florida USA 2016. The Miss Florida USA Organization released a statement saying Davila violated the rules of the pageant by using professional stylists to look her best, which is a breach of the rules of this pageant. Her runner-up, Linette De Los Santos, has now become Miss Florida USA 2017 and will represent the Sunshine State at Miss USA 2017.
