Miss World Launches BWAP Initiative in South Africa

The reigning Miss World, Rolene Strauss, has partnered up with South African mobile phone service provider Cell C and the Tomorrow Trust to launch an exciting new Beauty With A Purpose project in South Africa that will see 100 young people being given the opportunity to become doctors over the next few years. Strauss, who will return to her medical studies after she hands over her crown on December 19th, is passionate about women's health issues and has expressed her excitement about the venture. She will be actively involved in this project alongside future Miss World title holders. Strauss and her team will focus on given disadvantaged young girls from all over South Africa the opportunity to become medical doctors, but the trust will not exclude boys. Miss World CEO, Julia Morley, has given her full support for this project and already made a donation of more than ZAR100,000. Strauss has called upon the South African corporate world to support this project by providing bursaries.
Miss South Africa 1990 and Cell C Managing Executive, Suzette van der Merwe, has pledged Cell C's support and dedication to this project that will be a collaborative effort between Cell C, the Tomorrow Trust and Miss World's Beauty With A Purpose initiative.
