Mexico Leads Miss Universe Boycott; Costa Rica follows

Former Miss Universe, Lupita Jones' Nuestra Belleza Mexico Organization recently announced that they will boycott the Miss Universe Pageant in light of the recent xenophobic and racist comments against Mexicans that were made by pageant owner, Donald Trump. The NB Mexico television channel, Televisa, also made it clear that they will no longer televise the Miss Universe Pageant. Gorgeous Wendolly Esparza, who was considered a clear front-runner, is thus the first delegate that will boycott the Miss Universe Pageant. Mexico won the Miss Universe title in 1991 and 2010.
Last year's Miss Costa Rica might be the last to have represented Costa Rica at Miss Universe
Costa Rica quickly followed suit and announced yesterday that the new Miss Costa Rica, who will be crowned in August,  will also boycott the Miss Universe Pageant. Teletica also vowed not to broadcast the Miss Universe Pageant.
