Miss South Africa National Executive, Melinda Bam, who was also Miss South Africa 2011
Sun International, owners of the Miss South Africa Pageant, has announced exciting new changes for the Miss South Africa brand. The first one is that Miss South Africa 2011, Melinda Bam, has been appointed as National Executive for the Miss South Africa Pageant. Bam will be in charge of a major rebranding initiative for the pageant. The aim is to freshen up the image of the pageant and make the pageant younger, modern, and more relevant. Bam, who was recently announced as FHM South Africa's Sexiest Woman in the World, will also be in charge of new sponsorship deals, projects for charity initiatives, and preparing Miss South Africa title holders to compete internationally.
Fresh: The brand new Miss SA logo
The first exciting details were also announced. Marilyn Ramos' reign will be 3 months longer as there will be no Miss South Africa Pageant in 2013. Miss South Africa 2014 will be crowned in March 2014. The pageant will still be broadcast on South Africa satellite channel, Mzansi Magic. It has been confirmed that Ramos will represent South Africa at Miss World 2013 and Miss Universe 2013.
Entries for Miss South Africa 2014 will start on July 8. Entry forms will be available at and the Miss SA Facebook Page. The entries for Miss SA 2013 will close on August 31.

Eye For Beauty Blog would like to wish Melinda Bam all the best as she takes up this exciting challenge. We are looking forward to the rebirth of the Miss SA Pageant. It's time to take Miss SA back to the people and we believe Bam will breathe new life into the brand. We are optimistic and excited about all the changes and we can't wait to get more details! Miss South Africa should regain the status she had during her glory days in the 90s!
