Miss SA 2016: Spotlight on... TAYLA SKYE ROBINSON

Age: 22
Representing: Gauteng

Tayla is from Johannesburg and a student of marketing.

Fun facts

* The former Miss SA that inspires her the most is Rolene Strauss (2014).
* Her role model is South African business woman, Maria Ramos.
* She has a sister.
* She would love to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
* Tayla was Miss Teen World 2010.
* She loves a good South African barbecue or braai.

Eye For Beauty says:

Tayla is really beautiful and I have always wanted to see her compete on the Miss SA stage. She's also really experienced, so she will know exactly what to do to make a good impression in front of the judges or on stage. She is well-spoken and articulate, but she needs to watch out for coming across as rehearsed. Tayla was Miss Teen World 2010 and the owner of that pageant lost a lawsuit against the Miss World Organization and had to change the name of the pageant. If she wins Miss SA, she should probably opt not to go to Miss World, because I am not sure how they will respond to a former Miss Teen World. The last time one attempted to go (Miss Teen World 2011 to Miss World 2012), she did not make it to the finals of Miss World. (PS - I think she gets that already -that's perhaps why she mentioned the Miss Universe slogan in her video.)

My advice to Tayla would be to forget all her previous pageant training and not worry about being too perfect, because that will make her come across too rehearsed. Finding the right styling (hair and makeup) is also key. She is a beautiful girl. She just needs to find the best look for her. And if she doesn't win this year, she should definitely come back and try again!
