Miss World 2014, Rolene Strauss, and Miss World CEO, Julia Morley, just completed a hugely successful trip to Sri Lanka. After visiting Indonesia and the Philippines, Sri Lanka was the final stop for this trip. In Sri Lanka, they were part of the Rotary Club's Annual Conference. Miss World also helped to launch the One Million Tree Stories Project by planting the first of a million trees to be planted this year and launching the website for the project.
Morley and Strauss were also among the esteemed speakers during the four day conference with Strauss telling the audience more about Beauty With A Purpose and Morley discussing the role of women in our modern society. They also paid a visit to a project that aims to provide hearing aides to people across Sri Lanka who are unable to afford them and they visited an animal sanctuary. Miss World has now returned to South Africa and will remain. Her next trip is expected to be to Iowa for the Variety Telethon, an annual event Miss World supports.
