Miss International 2014 Review: Philippines - Spain

The 54th Miss International will be crowned on Tuesday, November 11 in Tokyo, Japan. 73 delegates are vying to become Miss International 2014. The winner will succeed Bea Santiago from the Philippines. For the last 2 weeks, the delegates took part in several activities organized by the Miss International Organization. This year there are several standouts but predicting who will win this pageant is almost impossible. Interestingly enough, the organizers decided that this year there will only be a top 10, not a top 15 like in previous years. The top 10 will be cut to 5 and one of them will be the new Miss International.

After keeping an eye on the girls for the past few weeks, here are my thoughts:

****** POSSIBLE WINNER
***** TOP 5 MATERIAL BUT WILL PROBABLY NOT WIN
**** VERY LIKELY TO PLACE IN THE TOP 10
*** POSSIBLE SURPRISE INCLUSION IN THE TOP 10
** UNLIKELY TO PLACE
* HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO PLACE
Philippines: Bianca Guidotti *****

Can the Philippines achieve a back-to-back win? They sent another strong delegate in the form of Bianca Guidotti. Somehow I just don't think they are going to manage keeping the crown this year. Bianca should be able to make the top 10 and with luck, she could get a top 5 placement. She wouldn't look out of place in the top 5 but I can't see her winning.

Poland: Zaneta Pludowska ****

I really like Zaneta's (gorgeous) girl-next-door type of beauty. She looks radiant most of the time and I think she is such a natural beauty. She has grown on me a lot during this competition and I'm now rooting for a top 10 spot for her.

Portugal: Rafaela Pardete **

I actually Rafaela is an underrated gem. There's something about her look that I really like. In a less competitive year, she might have had a shot at doing well.

Puerto Rico: Valerie Matias **

Valeria replaced the original delegate and I guess representing her country here will have to be enough. I don't see her advancing to the next round.

Romania: Anca Neculaiasa **

Is Romania there? I have not seen many photos of her. She must have really faded into the background.

Russia: Alina Rekko ***

Hmmm... I don't know about her. I have seen gorgeous shots and then there were others where she looked like she got ready in the dark. Still, she has that kind of Miss International type of beauty that could make her one of the surprises of the night.

Serbia: Lidjia Kocic *

The fans were pretty tough on her. Kudos to her for representing her country to the best of her ability.

Singapore: Vanessa Sim ***

She actually has a very interesting look and could steal a spot in the top 10 ahead of other more heavily favored Asians. It's a long shot but she might get lucky.

Slovakia: Lucia Semankova ***

I think Lucia is really beautiful and she always draws attention. I'm not completely sure if she was consistent throughout though. I feel it was pretty much hit and miss. It will all boil down to her personality and the way she impressed the Japanese these last few weeks.

Spain: Rocia Tormo **

Spain has sent some stunners to this pageant. This year I can see their delegate going very far. She is pretty but I wasn't overly impressed.

  1. I guess Puerto Rico proved you wrong. representing her country was not enough, she wanted that crown.
